Some people think that LP is an emo band, but I don't think they are. Sure, some of their songs are sad but I like them.

Yea, it basically means emotional. There's multiple meanings for emo. One of the meanings for it is a person who cuts him/herself, wears black, is depressed all the time, etc... That's the one people use the most.
